VINTON, LA (NBC33) — A convicted sex offender is back behind bars after he violently raped a woman, according to investigators.
The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office reports that the incident was reported on Sunday, April 7 in Vinton. The victim claimed she knew her attacker, Glenn P. Baxter, II, 48.
The victim told deputies that Baxter came into her home during the early morning on Friday, April 5. She says he struck her in the stomach, back of the neck and legs, then forcefully raped her. Deputies noted significant bruising on her.
Investigators learned that Baxter was accused of raping another acquaintance of his on several occasions within the past 4 months.
Baxter, a registered sex offender, was previously arrested and later confessed to having an inappropriate sexual relationship with a 10-year-old while visiting a family. It happened in September 2012. His past conviction was for a sexual battery incident that occurred in December 1998.
Baxter was arrested and charged with Forcible Rape and Sexual Battery. His bond was set at $550,000.
