SHREVEPORT, La — A man accused of shooting and injuring another man in March surrendered to authorities on April 4 just after 7:00 p.m.
Back on March 31, officers were called to a local hospital when they found out a man arrived in the emergency room suffering a gunshot wound to the lower extremity. The man, Jerry Cason, 20, of Shreveport, was treated for a non life threatening gunshot wound and later released.
In speaking with Cason, police investigators learned that the initial shooting occurred on March 30 at a home in the 600 block of West 83rd Street in Shreveport.
Detectives learned that Kendrick McDowell, 21, of Shreveport, was responsible for shooting of Cason during an alleged prank on the part of McDowell.
McDowell surrendered to Shreveport authorities without incident. He was charged with Illegal Use of a Weapon and booked into the Shreveport City Jail.
