BATON ROUGE (WVLA) -
Thousands turned out to send a strong message to criminals here in the Capital City.
Agencies from all across the region showed off their resources for the national Night Out Against Crime.
It's a way of letting people here in Baton Rouge know what police agencies are working with to make the area safer.
People we talked with today say crime is higher than they've ever seen it - and agencies need to work together if they want to put a dent in the numbers.
The Night Out Against Crime was held in cities all across the country.
A Night Out is set for Thursday night in Livingston Parish.
It'll be held from 6:00-9:00pm at the Winn Dixie in Walker.
The event will held with a fireworks show.
