GEORGIA (WMGT-NBC) — Every spring students dress up and head off to separate proms, one for the white students and the other for black students.
But this year, that could all change for a school in Georgia.
When Wilcox County schools integrated 30 years ago, the annual school sponsored prom ended.
Parents began to raise money to host separate proms and it's a tradition that continues to this day.
Several high school students are working to break the racial boundaries and are raising money for the school's first integrated prom.
