PLAQUEMINES PARISH, LA — A Plaquemines Parish man has been arrested for having sexual intercourse with his 16-year-old daughter.
NOTE: In order to protect the identity of the victim, officials are withholding the name of the suspect.
On Friday, March 29, at around 5:55 p.m., the Plaquemines Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to an incest complaint in Belle Chasse.
When they arrived, deputies learned that a 37-year-old father had been convinvcing his 16-year-old daughter to have intercourse with him for the past year.
The father left on foot before officials arrived; he was said to be intoxicated.
A short time later, the father was located and placed under arrest for Appearing in an Intoxicated Condition, as well as a for having an outstanding bench warrant from the Plaquemines Parish 25th Judicial District Court.
When interviewed by authorities, the victim said that her father gave her alcohol before having sex with her. She also said that the sexual acts happened during the past year at their Belle Chasse residence, with the most recent occurrence being on Thursday, March 28.
Additionally, the victim reported that her father had sex with her in two other states.
Detectives searched the suspect's home and found clothing and a blanket that was used during the most recent incident.
The father was transported to the Belle Chasse Lockup, where he was charged with Disturbing the Peace by Intoxication, an outstanding Plaquemines Parish Bench Warrant, two counts of Sexual Battery, two counts of Molestation of a Juvenile, and two counts of Aggravated Incest.
The father was not interviewed by detectives at the time of his arrest because of his intoxicated condition.
On April 1, detectives interviewed the father; he confessed to having sex with his daughter on two separate occasions during the past year while living in Belle Chasse. The father also admitted to having sexual intercourse with his daughter in Alabama and Florida.
Plaquemines Parish Sheriff’s Office Detectives are currently working with authorities in Alabama and Florida. The father remains in the custody of the Plaquemines Parish Sheriff’s Office.
