NEW HAVEN, Conn. (CTNow) — ce arrested a 52-year-old man who allegedly broke into a house while intoxicated on Sunday and passed out in a bedroom closet.
The owner of the home at 201 Ivy St. said he noticed a broken kitchen window and blood when he came home around 12:10 a.m., police said.
He searched the house and found a man, later identified as Robert Mero, sleeping in his bedroom closet. The homeowner called police.
Mero admitted to responding officers that he had broken in. He was taken by ambulance to Yale-New Haven Hospital where he was treated for non life-threatening cuts.
Mero was then arrested on charges of second-degree burglary and criminal mischief.
