POINTE COUPEE PARISH, LA — In Pointe Coupee Parish, the school system is one step closer to having a resource officer in every school.
Sheriff Bud Torres told NBC33 that the school board is set to approve adding three more resource officers to schools in the area. There's already at two of the parish's public schools.
The plan would cost $120,000 a year.
If it gets the green light, each public school would have one resource officer all the time.
