Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — The Public Service Commission wants to make sure you don't get spam text messages.
The idea is based upon the “no call” list.
The head of the commission, Eric Skrmetta, said now scammers are turning to texts messaging.
He said the texts are a nuisance. Also, many people still don’t have unlimited texting plans, and links can lead to viruses.
Skrmetta told us today the commission needs federal help to get it done.
The commission said they'll write up the proposal for the “no text” list in the next few months.
