The Lincoln Theater on Myrtle Walk may soon be listed on the National Register of Historic Sites. The Old South Baton Rouge property was once a cultural hub for African Americans in the 1950's thru the 1970's.
Now, the East Baton Rouge Redevelopment District along with the Louisiana Black History Hall of Fame plan to re-open the theater, complete with a Black History Museum. They are hoping this will be the first step in revitalizing the entire Old South Baton Rouge area.
