Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — A little extra money can go a long way, and this morning, one Baton Rouge man finally got lucky.
Alvin Roundtree was surprised this morning by a $10,000 Publisher's Clearing House check.
Roundtree says he's been entering the competition for over a decade, and says he was flabbergasted to finally win.
When NBC33 spoke to him, he says the reality hadn't set in about the big prize yet.
"Well I was surprised,” stated Roundtree. “I thought maybe I had a fire at the house or something when my neighbor said 'You better hurry home.' Then, when I saw the van pull up, I thought, 'Oh my God!'"
Roundtree told us he's going to use the money to visit his youngest daughter in Delaware. He's also still hoping to win again – hopefully, a bigger prize next time.
