Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — Professors today had the chance to talk with the potential new leader for LSU.
On Wednesday, the faculty senate issued a 'no confidence' vote on the possible president, calling in to question his credentials.
Dr. F. King Alexander says he's got years of experience to bring to the LSU system.
One professor on the search committee said Alexander was the best choice to move the LSU System forward.
“I think the controversy is misplaced,” stated William Cooper, committee member. “This man has a proven track record. This man is experienced. This man has numerous talents, and I think he is the right person for us at this time."
The Board of Supervisors will vote on Alexander's appointment at their next board meeting, which is set for next week.
