BAYOU CORNE, LA (NBC33) — Assumption Parish Emergency officials say work around Bayou Corne is on hold for now after new reports of increased movement going on underneath the surface of the sinkhole.
Experts noticed bubbling on the western side of the sinkhole. The extra movement usually means gas or liquids moving underground.
The movement happened only near cavern three.
Officials say there is no immediate threat to the community.
