THIBODAUX, LA (NBC33) — Law enforcement agencies across the globe will make some noise today, virtual style.
Beginning at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, March 22, more than 150 agencies from 8 countries will spend the day tweeting about their activities. You can consider this a virtual ride along.
Here in Louisiana, the Thibodaux Police Department signed on to share its activities. The agency is heavily invested in utilizing social media as a way of bridging the gap with the public.
“Our commitment is to make ourselves accessible to the community we serve. If this helps us close the numbers on the cases of victimization that are going unreported, that will go towards our ultimate goal. Whatever it takes to get that done, we’re going to give it a try,” Chief Scott Silverii said in a past interview with NBC33 regarding his views on social media.
