Shreveport, La — A Shreveport man now sits behind bars this evening after authorities learn of his criminal involvement via a social network site.
Back on February 26, Shreveport Police officers went to a home in the 1900 block of Clanton Street in response to a residential burglary.
During the investigation, authorities spoke with the victim who stated that her home had been broken into while she was at work. During the burglary, the suspect stole jewelry and other valuables.
Days following the burglary, the victim was made aware of images that had been posted to a popular social networking site of a man seen wearing pieces of jewelry and clothing that looked very similar to the items reported stolen during the burglary.
The photographs were presented to detectives with the Shreveport Police Department's Property Crimes Unit. Authorities were able to gather evidence linking Courtney Daniels, 21, to the crime and identifying him as the person who allegedly posted the photographs of himself to the social network account.
On the afternoon of March 20, investigators arrived at the home of Daniels and were successful in locating multiple items inside of his home that had been stolen during the burglary back in February.
Daniels was actually wearing some of the items stolen from the victim's home.
For his role in the burglary, Daniels was arrested and charged with Simple Burglary of an Inhabited Dwelling.
