NBC NATIONAL NEWS — The debate over expensive telephone calls made from prison was reignited today.
At a Public Service Commission meeting, Foster Campbell said companies may still be getting away with making more money than they should from those calls.
Campbell says companies may be charging a list of fees, which could mean a 30 percent increase in the cost of phone call made in prison versus the cost at home.
Families of inmates are usually stuck with that higher than usual bill.
According to the Department of Corrections, a 15 minute call costs about $1.05. Many times, it's a collect call from prison.
