NBC News — Venezuela's acting president is accusing the U.S. of a plot to kill his political rival.
Nicolas Maduro (shown above) said during an interview that the plot was being called by the Pentagon and CIA to kill opposition candidate Henrique Capriles.
Maduro pushed President Obama to stop the alleged plot.
Maduro went on to say the plan was to trigger a coup ahead of the presidential election and blame Venezuela's government of the murder.
The U.S. state department has rejected the allegations.
The presidential elections will take place on April 14th.
