Lafayette, La — A man has been taken into custody after threatening bodily harm to his family members.
At approximately noon, Lafayette Police responded to a home in the 1600 block of Louisiana Avenue regarding a disturbance. Family members told officers that a 19-year-old male living at the home had made several threatening comments towards them.
The family believed the 19-year-old was inside of the home. Officers received no indication that anyone was in the home.
Due to the threats of bodily harm towards the family, the LPD SWAT Team was called out as a precaution to determine if anyone was inside of the home.
At approximately 3:30 pm, the 19-year-old male exited the home and was taken into custody without incident. He was transported to a local facility for evaluation.
During the incident, several streets were blocked off, but no one was evacuated. Lafayette Police were assisted by the multiple units from the Louisiana State Police, who were in the area at the time the incident began.
