Baker, La — A man has been charged with both drug and illegal weapon charges due to the help of informant tips.
On March 5, Baker Police Department Narcotics Officers, after a thorough investigation that started from confidential information, were conducting surveillance on Travis Barton, 27.
Officers saw Barton leaving his apartment in his vehicle with extremely loud music that could be heard from over 150 feet away with the windows rolled up; that is a violation of the Baker Loud Music Ordinance.
Barton was stopped and questioned, and he told officers he had drugs in his car and residence.
Officers secured a search warrant for him home and and discovered 350 grams of Marijuana, Hydrocodone pills, $14,186.00 cash and other paraphernalia. They also found three firearms: a Glock semi automatic pistol, AR-15 Rifle and a .22 cal. rifle.
Barton was charged with two counts of Possession with intent to distribute Marijuana, three counts of Possession of schedule 2 Hydrocodone, three counts of Illegal possession of Firearms with CDS and Drug Paraphernalia.
