BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — Bright and early this morning, St. Vincent De Paul had a special delivery from the non-profit organization the Needy of Greater Baton Rouge. It was a drop off of Easter baskets!
"The Easter spirit is alive in Baton Rouge, Louisiana,” Michael Acaldo, director for St. Vincent De Paul, said. “The Needy of Greater Baton Rouge rolled in today with 300 Easter baskets and that's going to make a big difference to the needy in our community."
The baskets are a huge help to St. Vincent De Paul because in total they are looking to collect about 900. They encourage people to participate in the Build A Basket effort. All you have to do is get a basket, add some candy and tie it up.
Acaldo explained that Easter is just as important as Christmas, but often times it’s overlooked.
The Build A Basket effort will continue up until Easter at the end of the month.
