NOPD: Teen in school uniform shot multiple times near bus stop

NEW ORLEANS, LA (NBC33) — A teen boy wearing his school uniform was shot multiple times at a bus stop after he became engaged in a fight.

The New Orleans Police Department reports that the incident occurred at roughly 2:20 p.m. near the intersection of Esplanade and North Broad Ave. Officials say the 15-year-old got into a fight with other students who were all in school uniforms.

At some point a gun was drawn and we’re told 15 shots were fired.

The victim was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. Police say one person is in custody but they have not revealed if the person is considered a suspect.
