Kentwood man kills woman, turns gun on himself

KENTWOOD, LA (NBC33) — Two people died in Kentwood this morning after a man killed a woman and then himself.

The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office reports that the shooting occurred at a home on Pittman Road in Kentwood during the early morning on Tuesday, Feb. 19. They have confirmed that a 30-year-old man shot and killed a 26-year-old woman, then turned the gun on himself.

Officials have not provided the names of the victim or the shooter, nor the relationship between the individuals.

An autopsy has been scheduled and the investigation is pending those results.
