Arnaudville, la (nbc33) — The Knott brothers opened up Bayou Teche Brewing three years ago, and the business of beer has been good to them.
"We started off with the idea we were going to sell beer around Acadiana. Right away we had New Orleans calling, and then Baton Rouge, and then all the rest of Louisiana," says Karlos Knott, founder and brother of Bayou Teche Brewing.
Not long after that Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and even New York wanted a taste of Bayou Teche. After just a couple months in business they had to expand. Out of all five of their locations located across the United States Karlos says their location here in Louisiana is by far their best business.
"We have a different groove here in Louisiana. We kind of move our own speed, and it's a nice speed. It's better than the rest of America," says Knott.
And it's better in Acadiana.
"Locals do support local industries, local businesses. We get our labels from a local company. I think everybody appreciates just doing local business with someone they know here, as opposed to just a brand," says Knott.
For the Knott brothers it's pretty simple...a beer for all things Cajun and Creole.
