NEW IBERIA, LA (NBC33) — Two teens claim armed robbers tased them after they demanded money. Deputies are currently seeking to identify the men responsible.
The Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office reports that the incident occurred on Sunday, Feb. 17 at roughly 8:30 p.m. We’re told the victims, both males ages 15 and 16, we’re driving in a vehicle on Fonteleau Drive in New Iberia when three black males approached their vehicle. They say at least one man had a handgun and a taser.
The victims say the man demanded money. Officials could not disclose whether or not the victims complied with the request. However, both teens were allegedly tased, allowing the suspects time to flee on foot.
The victims reportedly drove to Admiral Doyle Drive and asked someone to contact authorities. The teens were treated by emergency personnel for their injuries.
One suspect was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, another was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and the third was wearing a camouflage hooded sweatshirt.
