BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — Dozens of kids got a leg up on starting their own business at the BREC Bluebonnet Nature Center Sunday.
It's all part of registration day for third annual National Lemonade Day. The program teaches kids how to run their own business by using a lemonade stand as a model.
Kids get to decide how much to charge, where to set up your stand, and what to sell. Some kids took time Sunday to figure out their business plan.
"How about we like have a taste test. If those people like sweeter or sour," Mark Latulippe, future lemonade seller, said. "We give them lemonade and we get money from them.
Lemonade day is May 4, 2013. Kids are encouraged to donate part of their profits to charity.
