BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — If you’re planning on going to Mardi Gras celebrations this weekend, you might want to plan for rain.
Friday and Saturday will call for a few clouds with dry weather. However, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday will be wet with a strong possibility for severe weather across southern Louisiana.
Starting Sunday, Feb. 10, you can expect strong storms pushing through by the midday. You should plan on heavy rain, localized flooding, damaging winds and the threat of an isolated tornado.
For Monday, Feb. 11, the storm system will fail to completely clear the region and heavy rainfall can be expected throughout the day. You should anticipate scattered showers, but they should not bring severe conditions.
Finally, on Fat Tuesday, things will begin to clear up. There should be some rain showers in the early to mid morning, but the rain should clear out by the afternoon.
You can keep ahead of the storm when you’re on the go by downloading the NBC33 Mobile app.
