BATON ROUGE, LA — In addition to the Southdowns Neighborhood residential streets that will be closed for the Southdowns Mardi Gras Parade, portions of Stanford Avenue and Perkins Road will also be closed to traffic Friday evening, Feb. 8.
Stanford Avenue from Hyacinth Avenue to Perkins Road will be closed from approximately 8:00 p.m. to 10 p.m., while Perkins Road from Acadian Thruway to Valley Street will be closed from 8:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
During the closure, eastbound traffic on Perkins Road will be diverted onto northbound Acadian Thruway, while southbound traffic on Acadian will be diverted onto westbound Perkins. Westbound traffic on Perkins will be diverted onto northbound Valley Street.
Northbound traffic on Stanford will be stopped at Hyacinth during the closure, but will be allowed to make U-turns to turn around.
