BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — Mardi Gras beads may be a prize today, but come Wednesday what do you plan to do with the plastic beads?
The Salvation Army is currently collecting Mardi Gras beads at its Baton Rouge locations. The beads will be sterilized and bundled so they can be used next year. They will be available in late winter 2013 at a discount.
All funds collected from the sale of the beads will help pay for critical supplies used in the programs sponsored by the Salvation Army.
