NBC NATIONAL NEWS — LSU Executive Education is pleased to announce its inaugural Executive Excellence Symposium, which is scheduled to be held Friday, March 15, from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. Michael Rogers, founder of the consultancy group Practical Futurist and columnist for MSNBC, will be the featured speaker. The symposium will be held in The Auditorium of the Business Education Complex, home of the LSU E. J. Ourso College of Business.
According to LSU Executive Director Robin Kistler, Rogers will speak about the virtualization of America and how businesses and organizations must evolve to keep pace. He will speak from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. A networking cocktail reception will follow in The Rotunda, and light hors d’oeuvres will be served. The cost to attend the symposium is $325 per attendee.
“This is an event geared toward top executives and administrators,” Kistler said. “Michael Rogers is a technology pioneer, novelist and journalist whose consultancy helps businesses and organizations worldwide think about the future and how technology will impact them. He has worked with companies such as FedEx, Boeing and Time-Life.”
After more than a decade of writing for Rolling Stone magazine, Rogers cofounded Outside magazine and later created the Technology section for Newsweek. Additionally, he served as general manager and editor of Newsweek.com. Rogers studied physics and creative writing at Stanford University in addition to learning about finance and management in Stanford Business School’s Executive Program.
