BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — It's not the decision LSU was hoping for. On National Signing Day the No. 1 recruit in the country Robert Nkemdiche has picked Ole Miss, choosing to join his brother Denzel as a Rebel.
The five-star defensive lineman from Loganville, GA made his announcement from Grayson High School, kicking off the National Signing Day Bonanza.
LSU was hoping the 6'5" 250 pounder would turn Tiger. Instead Nkemdiche broke the news Wednesday morning at a news conference broadcast on ESPNU, choosing Ole Miss over LSU and Florida.
LSU will try to snag other top high school prospects as National Signing day rolls on. The 18th annual Bayou Bash at the Baton Rouge River Center will give Tiger fans the chance to be a part of all the action. Tickets are $45 at the door.
