BATON ROUGE,LA (NBC33) — Calling all pancake lovers Tuesday February 5 is your chance to get free pancakes plus help out sick kids.
I-HOP Restaurants are giving away a free short stack of pancakes, for a donation to Shriners Children's Hospitals. You have to hurry the offers only good till 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday Feb. 5. Last year Baton Rouge IHOP's raise more than $9 thousand on IHOP National Pancake Day! This year they want top that!
"Oh yeah we are all trying to out do each other. Denham springs we're coming for you," Martin Cox, Siegen IHOP manager, said. "They are good. They are hot. They are fluffy. They are wonderful. Come out it's a for a great cause, and like I said until 10:00 they are free. "
Pancake Day originally began as an old English holiday called Shrove Tuesday. People couldn't eat dairy products during Lent, so before they had to fast they filled up on the fluffy treats.
