Vinton man arrested for third time on additional sexual related charges

Lake Charles, La — The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested Christopher S. Benoit, 40, for a third time and charged him with an additional 8 counts of aggravated incest after detectives received a complaint regarding Benoit sexually abusing a third female family member on numerous occasions for over four years beginning in 1989 when the victim was eight years old.

Benoit was previously arrested on January 17 after an investigation revealed he had inappropriate sexual contact with a female family member on numerous occasions, beginning in 2009 when the girl was 9 years old. [1]

He was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with 2 counts of aggravated rape; and 1 count of aggravated incest with a bond of $270,000 set by Judge Ron Ware.

After his first arrest, the investigation continued and detectives received a separate complaint regarding Benoit sexually abusing a 2nd female family member on numerous occasions beginning in 1988 when the victim was 6 years old. Benoit was re-arrested on January 24 and charged with 8 counts of aggravated incest and Judge Clayton Davis set his bond at $2,000,000 on the new charges.

Judge Kent Savoie set his bond at $2,000,000 on the new charges, bringing his total bond to $4,700,000 for all three arrests.
