NBC News — Five of the six suspects accused in the rape and death of an Indian medical student once again appeared in a fast track court tuesday. The sixth suspect didn't appear in the specially created court because he is being tried as a minor. The fast track court was created after the brutal rape sparked outrage across India. The bus used in the alleged attack was presented to the court as evidence.
The men are accused of stealing the bus and using it to pick up the college student. Indian authorities filed murder charges against the men after the 23 year old victim died later in a hospital from massive internal injuries. Prosecutors say they plan to push for the death penalty in the case.
