FLUKER, LA (NBC33) — A man with 10 outstanding warrants to appear in court was arrested this weekend after he was pulled over for a traffic violation.
The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office reports that that incident occurred on Sunday, Feb. 3 on Hwy 51 near Hwy 10 in Fluker. We’re told a deputy stopped a vehicle being driven by Ronny Burton, 33, of Independence.
Officials say the deputy noticed the strong smell of alcohol on Burton’s breath. A field sobriety test was issued, for which Burton allegedly failed. The deputy also learned of the outstanding warrants.
Burton was arrested and charged with DUI. He was booked into the Tangipahoa Parish jail on a bond of $29,000.
