NEW ORLEANS, LA (WDSU-CNN) — Saturday will be packed with a variety of activities leading up to Sunday's Super Bowl.
Residents and visitors will be able to take part in clinics, parties and volunteer activities throughout the day.
The Super Saturday of Service lets both New Orleans residents and visitors volunteer to renovate five New Orleans Recreational Development Commission playgrounds, their communities and the NFL Youth Education Town.
The Super Saturday of Service will celebrate $2 million in capital improvement for the five sites, while allowing volunteers to invest sweat equity. Following the Super Bowl, Harrell Stadium will receive turf from the Superdome.
Who: New Orleans Saints players: Chris Chamberlain, Willie Roaf and Andy Tanner. Other NFL players: Nick Eason, Arizona Cardinals and Daryl Richardson, St. Louis Rams. Former NFL players: Sean Landeta and Clarence Verdin.
When: Service activities: 8 a.m. to noon
