NEW ORLEANS, LA (NBC33) — A man wearing a wig robbed an employee and customer in a mobile phone store at gunpoint.
The New Orleans Police Department reports that the robbery occurred on Tuesday, Jan. 29 at roughly 3:45 p.m. We’re told the suspect entered the store around 3: 45 p.m. and demanded money from the employee.
The suspect managed to get away with roughly $3,500 in cash. He also took two mobile phones from the display case, then managed to flee on foot. The entire incident was caught on surveillance camera.
The suspect is described as an African American male 5’07”tall, approximately 120 pounds. He was last seen wearing a lady’s wig and sunglasses, white shirt, green medical scrubs, carrying a white bag.
Officials believe the suspect is possibly connected to two previous robberies at the same business, which is located on the 3300 block of Bienville Street. They happened back in December 2012.
