St. Landry Parish — Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz is pleased to announce that he will award a scholarship providing assistance to a worthy St. Landry Parish graduating senior for furthering his/her education with resources made available through the Louisiana Sheriffs’ Honorary Membership Program.
Guidroz indicated that this scholarship program is a meaningful expression of the program’s respect for education and it symbolizes his confidence in the youth of St. Landry Parish.
A scholarship of $500.00 will be awarded to one outstanding graduating high school senior.
There are no restrictions on the purposes for which scholarship funds may be spent except that they must be utilized in pursuit of a higher education within the state of Louisiana. The recipient of the scholarship must enroll as a full-time undergraduate student in an accredited college or university within the state. The scholarship is not a loan and is awarded as a gift to defray expenses associated with tuition and related expenses. Applicants must be permanent residents of Louisiana and St. Landry Parish.
Application packets may be picked up at particpating high schools in St. Landry Parish. Completed applications must be received by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office no later than April 1, 2013.
