WALKER,LA(NBC33) — Walker Police said they're getting a lot of complaints about college-aged adults going door to door selling or claiming to be selling magazines. Either way, it's illegal to do in the city of Walker.
In 1976 the city adopted an ordinance banning anyone to go selling products door to door.
Police warn Walker resident that the "sellers" can be quite pushy and may ask for your personal information. If you feel uncomfortable telling them no, then police suggest telling the person what they are doing is illegal.
Police said if someone you're not expecting knocks don't open the door, and don't let the "salesmen" into your home. They could be checking out your home to come back and rob you later.
If one knocks on your door you can call police at (225) 664-3125.
