THIBODAUX, LA — Two specific areas in Thibodaux will be designated as family friendly zones for all Thibodaux Mardi Gras parades this season.
These two designated areas will prohibit the use of tobacco, alcohol, narcotics, firearms and vulgar music throughout the parades.
All are welcome to watch the parades in the designated areas, but children under the age of 16 years old must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Residents are invited to take advantage of these areas with their families and friends during this Mardi Gras season.
The two areas that have been designated include the properties in front of East Thibodaux Middle School to Thibodaux Elementary School on East 7th Street. The other location is Chiasson Park on the corner of Jackson Street and West 10th Street.
The following is the date and time each area will open and both areas will close immediately after
the parade passes:
-Ambrosia Parade: Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. with the parade beginning at 5:30 p.m.

- Cleophas and Chronos Parades: Sunday, February 10, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. with the parade
beginning at 12:30 p.m. and Chronos to follow (both areas are available)
-Ghana Parade: Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with the parade beginning at 1:00 a.m.
