LAKE CHARLES, LA — On January 25, at approximately 1:30 p.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies patrolling in the area of Smith Road in Lake Charles came in contact with Jonathan J. Singleton, 20, 3104 Landfair Street, Lake Charles, and a 14 year old female, who were walking on the roadway.
During an initial interview, Singleton advised deputies that he had inappropriate sexual contact with the 14 year old girl, who was an acquaintance.
Singleton and the 14 year old girl were transported to the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office, where the investigation was turned over to detectives. When questioned by detectives, Singleton confirmed he had inappropriate sexual contact with the 14 year old girl on numerous occasions since November 2012.
Singleton was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with 6 counts of carnal knowledge of a juvenile and 3 counts of sexual battery.
Judge Clayton Davis set his bond at $450,000.
