THIBODAUX, LA (NBC33) — A 29-year-old man was arrested for DWI after he allegedly wrecked his car in a ditch.
The Thibodaux Police Department reports that the incident occurred on Saturday, Jan. 26 at roughly 2:30 a.m. We’re told the suspect was found passed out in his vehicle, which was crashed in a ditch on Thompson Place near Jackson Street.
Investigators believe Carl Everett was driving drunk in the 100 block of Pecan Street when he hit a parked vehicle in a driveway. They believe he is also responsible for hitting a junction box before fleeing the scene. They say he crashed his vehicle again roughly one block away.
Officials say Everett was not injured in the crash. A blood alcohol test revealed Everett’s level at .229 percent.
Everett was arrested and charged with Hit-and-Run, DWI, and Careless Operation.
