BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — A painting created by Baton Rouge artist Christopher Turner during the Final Four at the New Orleans Superdome is now on display at the NCAA Hall of Champions in Indiana.
"Showcasing my work in a museum has always been a goal,” Turner said. “I would have never thought it would be the NCAA Hall of Champions."
Turner completed the painting at the Final Four event back in March 2012. He worked on the piece courtside in front of a live audience. It was the first time in the history of the sporting event that an artist has completed such a task.
“The opportunity to paint courtside while the top four teams in the nation practice is amazing,” Turner said.
Now on exhibit in Indiana, Turner says the whole experience has been the highlight of his career thus far.
“The exhibit is icing on the cake for me,” he said. “To be apart of Final Four history at the age of 28, I have to pinch myself.”
The painting will remain on display through the end of April.
