BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — Mardi Gras season is known for the parties, costumes and of course the King Cakes!
Ralphs Market produces over 800 cakes a week and expects to make over 35,000 by the end of the season. They believe it’s the way they cook the pastry that makes its recipe better than others.
Bakers tell us they cook the filling in the cake, which helps to keep it moist. It’s a recipe that has the customers coming back for more.
"We consider ours special,” Derek Duplessis, Ralph’s Market, said. “Our customers love them and say they are the worlds famous Ralph's king cakes everyone loves them."
We want to know where you pick up your favorite King Cake. Tell us about it on the NBC33 Facebook page.
