LAFAYETTE, LA (NBC33) — Mardi Gras is coming around so early this year, which is driving sales up for some retailer.
Beads for Less sells Mardi Gras paraphernalia year around. Owner Greg Grace says business picked up each year, and because this year has a short season, they have already seen an influx of sales.
"We supply several of the larger crews in Lafayette and then a lot of individuals come and buy additional throws and trinkets and stuff like that," he said.
Grace added that the turnout so far, combined with the steady annual increase of business, could make for a record breaking year.
The best sellers of the store are the beads, throws, different balls, and a lot of their light-up trinkets for night parades and Mardi Gras Balls.
