West Baton Rouge Parish, La (NBC33) — The First Lady of Louisiana made a special visit to Iberville Elementary this morning and brought along a very special gift.
Five Iberville Elementary classrooms will be equipped with new interactive whiteboards.
These white boards have already been installed in over 350 classrooms across the state, and these new additions to the classroom will help increase student achievement.
“Studies show a 17-25 percent increase in academic gain and academic achievement in classrooms that use this type of technology,” stated Supriya Jindal. “We look forward to seeing some positive strides in classrooms all across the state in the near future."
“All that comes with technology - you have games now - they are just so excited to see what's coming next,” said teacher Katie Kekich. “As a teacher, you have more engagement and for students, there is more interest."
The Jindal Foundation will continue to install whiteboard technology and work with classrooms across the country.
