NBC NATIONAL NEWS — Massachusetts police continue to investigate a brawl between three men at a baby shower in Stoughton on Saturday.
Stoughton police released surveillance video of the incident on Tuesday. Video shows the event went from calm to chaos in an instant -- chairs were smashed, tables were overturned and punches were thrown.
"We were outnumbered and it was certainly a very, very dangerous scene. We feel lucky that no one got injured," said Lt. Robert Devine of the Stoughton police department. "Once we were trying to place the people we believe should have been placed under arrest, other folks wanted to get involved and obstruct that."
Police said when they arrived the hall was filled with as many as 200 people, including many children. A bartender, who dodged a bottle thrown towards her, helped children get into a closer so they would be safe.
"She was nothing short of heroic. As soon as things started going out, she got on the phone, called 911. In addition, she left the safety of her area. She went out, started grabbing children, putting them in a safe room where they would be out of harm's way," said Lt. Devine.
