NEW ORLEANS, LA (NBC33) — A woman was arrested Monday on prostitution charges, and officials say she had her 4-year-old child with her.
The New Orleans Police Department regularly monitors the website “Backpage” as it’s known to be used for soliciting prostitution. Officials say the suspect, Miranda Crisp, 28, of Texas City, Texas, had posted advertisements for sexual services on the site.
Shortly after arriving in New Orleans, Crisp was detained at a local hotel. She admitted that she had been brought to New Orleans by Mark Jackson, 34, to strip in local clubs and work as a prostitute. They had traveled there with a second woman, Nayelly Lanada, 18. She was also expected to perform similar services.
Crisp’s 4-year-old son was taken into protective custody.
Crisp was charged with Prostitution. Jackson was charged with Pandering and Trespassing. Lanada was charged with Interfering with an Investigation and Trespassing.
