BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — A north Baton Rouge mother of four now has a new home thanks to Habitat For Humanity and volunteers from Exxon-Mobil.
Kiesha Powell just got the keys to her brand new home on Chinn Street. Dozens of volunteers helped her celebrate the big day. Powell says she's proud to own her first home because she helped build it.
"Each and every inch square footage; the yard, even as mucky and muddy as it is mine, I love it,” Powell said. “I was extremely surprised and impressed I didn't know so many people cared about me."
More than 250 Exxon-Mobil volunteers helped build the home with habitat crews.
