Baton Rouge, LA (NBC33) — Less than a week ago, an ammonia leak shut down two blocks in downtown Baton Rouge. Now, people who live near the Reddy Ice plant are suing for damages.
They claim the ammonia leak at the facility exposed them to hazardous chemicals. They are also seeking damages for pain and suffering.
It's not known how much they are suing for.
One of the plaintiffs is former District Ten candidate Larry Selders.
The leak happened last Thursday; it caused the evacuation of a school and several elderly residents.
