SHREVEPORT, LA (KMSS) — Shreveport police charged one person Monday afternoon in connection with a double homicide that occurred back in early January.
On January 3, police found two people slain inside a Highland home in the 200 block of Columbia Street. Responding officers were dispatched in the early morning hours on a medical emergency.
When authorities arrived at the scene, they found Stephen Bryant, 57, and Madonna Dean Wachter, 49, both of Shreveport, dead inside the house. The couple was initially found by a family member.
At the time of the discovery, detectives had no clue as to who killed them. During the investigation, officers were able to develop Robert Farris, 23, as a suspect. A warrant was obtained and Farris was taken into custody Monday afternoon in Bossier City.
Farris was booked into the Shreveport City Jail and faces two counts of 2nd degree murder. Farris' bond has been set at $750,000.
