LIVONIA, LA (NBC33) — A fundraiser was held on Saturday to help pay for a teenager shot last month. A jambalaya cook-off and auction was held in Livonia for Brandt Torres. The 15 year old was accidentally shot by a friend while duck hunting. A generator, cooler, guns and many other items were sold to help pay for the mounting medical bills the teenager is facing. Brandt’s mother can’t believe all of the help her family has gotten during this very difficult time.
“We’ve gotten support in more ways that we could have ever asked for. it’s very humbling, touching and it’s changed our lives forever,” says Brandi Torres
Brandi also told NBC33 that her son is recovering faster than expected from the gunshot wound.
